Episode 39: N.L.E.

N.L.E. is the name of the story in this episode. I mention in the show that, though I like the title of this story, I wonder if it might be a little cryptic... so it would be great if you could let me know if you were able to infer the meaning of the title from the events in the story through the comments below.

Today's episode features a CLMW first. Here's the sitch:
The infamous Scott Sigler has a hatched a plot to help promote both himself and, via the trickle down effect, other podcast fiction authors. He figures that by having his latest novel, Ancestor , make it to #1 on Amazon.com, he can expose a whole new audience to what us podcast authors are doing. To achieve this, he's asking that those who'd like to purchase Ancestor do so on its release date, April 1st, at about noon(12:00 ET). Scott is a talented author, and Ancestor is a straight-up, monster-driven horror novel, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it. If you have the means, mark your calendars and buy a copy. I'll be keeping my eye on this one for sure.

And, for those that might be curious, here's a photo of the birth of N.L.E. This is how I roll.

The Watchbird's Cousin?

This gorgeous photo was taken and sent to me by long-time CLMW listener Al Saiz from Rhode Island. Here's what he had to say about it:

"We have an old float out back and yesterday I saw this out my back window. It's a young eagle but you know which of your stories flashed to mind. So I had to grab my digital cam and send you the image."

When I received this, I had to write Al back immediately to ask permission to post it here. I must admit I'm jealous of the view from his house. Thank you Al! I absolutely LOVE this picture!

Episode 38: Garbage Day

Today I present a very brief story called Garbage Day. Though there is no adult content whatsoever, I feel some of you may find it rather disturbing... I know I did.

Our intro today came from Taylor Kent of the Snark Infested Waters podcast. As noted in the blog post below, I had the extreme pleasure of appearing on Taylor's show a couple of weeks ago. Taylor's knowledge of the horror genre was impressive, and I've got to tell you he really GOT Revelations, and it really showed in the interview. I hope you'll check out the interview here.

In the outro of the show (which I'm beginning to think I should script instead of attempting to deliver off the cuff- sheesh, what a mess), after gushing for a while about how insanely cool you guys are, I mentioned a couple of things.

First, that I don't immediately accept every friend request I get on MySpace. So, please, if you are a listener to the show and I missed you, be sure to send me a message or a comment so that I can correct the oversight. And here's the link to horror author Stuart Neild, who's encouragement I have found so gratifying. Stuart, I am humbled.

Second, I announced that the e-book version of REVELATIONS is now free to download. I hope you'll share it with any horror fans you might know who don't listen to podcasts- and be sure to point out that the book is dedicated to YOU! I've added a permanent link to the REVELATIONS download on the right side of the page.

Once more I must thank you all for listening, and for continuing to encourage me to produce CLMW.
