What a superb opening to Whisper Back. Jennifer major kudos. Great capture of a child's fears and congratulations on a total switcheroo, I too was ready for Dad to go glub glub into the icky goo. Really didn't see it coming.

This is going to be great Russell.

Props to Randy for the awesome tune too.

Yes! It was mentioned and then it came to fruition! Thank you both. Russell for sharing your little piece of the web with your audience, and Ms. Brown for that wonderful and tricksy horror morsel!

I will admit I thought Ol Dad was bound for the goo myself, sneaky...

I can't wait for next week!

Wow, that was awesome! Thank you Ms. Brown and Mr. Burt! I think I've got enough encouragement to get my own little sick ditty done.

Short stories usually aren't my thing but I'll try! I hope it's as good as this story.

This was really great! My only problem is...I still want to kick the dad's @$$! Great writing. I felt the child (and mother's) struggle. Great introduction to Whisper Back.

I've left my comment but I have a question. It is sort of a silly thing but it still ate at me. Did the mom's accident have anything to do with dear ol' dad? Just wondering... Still a great story!

May the Muses embrace your minds and bid your fingers fly!

Ladywyllow, that's funny, Kelly and I had a discussion about that EXACT topic. I think that might be the case... The whispered comment into the wife's ear as he left the garage seemed to suggest that his abuse wasn't limited to the child...

I also have some opinions on the metaphor of the icky goo... assuming it was a metaphor. That's why I loved this story. Lot's of layers.

Wow...
I'm blown away by this great new addition and how quickly you pulled it all together, Russell! I love Randy's theme music (another great tune) and the first story was incredible.

The combination of the child's perspective and his persistent fear of his father made for a great unpredictable ending!

Kudos all the way around, folks! I'm looking forward to more....

This is incredible! It's a really good way to fill in that downtime between episodes of CLMW.

By the way, Dark Rose Fiction is back up and running. Hope to see you there.

I'm looking foreward to more of your work as well as your fan's.

Hey guys, just wanted to give a big ,fat, truly heartfelt thank you to everyone who has enjoyed my story and especially to those of you who have expressed it here. It means bucket fulls to me. I also want to give a huge thanks and "Holy Crap" to Russell for doing a FANTASTIC job in bringing my story to life on Whisper Back. He more than did it justice. I'm a Russell fan, like everyone else here, and horror is up my alley (probably eating my soul as we speak,) and I can't wait to see what other nightmares the rest of you spew forward.

Side note: If you have stories or poems that don't fit Russell's great podcast, but you want them read anyway, send them my way and I'll display them on my crappy cast. =) hodgepodgepoint@gmail.com

Thanks to the both of you for a fun story!
Russ, I think your going in the right direction by sharing your space with other writers.

There's a huge hunger in the market for good fiction podcasts, and your in the front of the curve on filling this need.

Now I can look forward to your podcasts twice as often!

But of course my shrink bill is going to go up too. I've been a bit "off" since I listened to "Your Mistake"!

Keep up the good work.
