Episode 6: The Power of Will and Steam
It is probably the only "traditonal" style ghost story of the collection. Enjoy, and be sure to let me know what you think of this and past episodes! Not saying that I crave approval, but I crave approval :-)
Stories of the Macabre by Russell L Burt
Come, let me whisper, words that no man should speak aloud
Their rightful place a page, to be torn from its source
Shredded from existence, At least hidden from light
That only a darker man may read, For flighty society
defines no place, Save that of closets with locks
Clubs without signs, And, of course, their minds

hey man, great stories...love the horror-esque type genre. Haven't listened to this one yet, but the watchbird was great!
Hi there. I'm Ashe and I found your podcast somewhere. I've forgotten now, but it's not important. I think it's great that you're doing this with your own work. I'm an aspiring writer, currently working towards a degree. From your accent, you sound like you might be southern. As a Tennessean myself, I know that it can be hard to get people to take you seriously as a writer down here. Anyway, I just listened to Work Ethic and already got iTunes to download the rest of the episodes. I plan on listening to them on my way to work and class. Thanks for putting this out there. I didn't think there were podcasts out there I'd be interested in, but I really dig this stuff.

Ashe again. Just listened to "The Watchbird". Seems I was right about the accent. A Tennessean, as well. I'm loving this stuff. I've still got episode 6 to go. Then I have to wait patiently for the next one, I suppose.

You should be writing for the sci-fi channel. Good story and again, really good with the narrative. I've listened to many books on tape. Your great. Approval, Approval.
